Welcome to the Ottawa Market Spotlight and this month we are diving right into 2022 with record breaking numbers!
Starting off the year in the Ottawa Real Estate market, we saw a total of 936 homes sold for the first month. This is a 2.8% drop year over year compared to the volume of sold homes in January 2021. Of the total homes sold last month, 661 were freehold and 275 were condominium.
The average price sold peaked in January at $771,793 for freehold homes and $447,943 for condominiums. Year over year both increasing at 14.0% and 17.8% respectively since January 2021.
Right now the Ottawa Real Estate Market is experiencing a very strong sellers market and the time to sell coudn't get any sweeter. As for the buyers, it is an excellant opportunity if you are able to secure a property as the value of homes continue to drive upwards. It can be frustrating considering the high competition however with the right proffessionals by your side, navigating this market becomes a cool breeze and very rewarding.
